Veneers are, if you think about a tooth, and if the front surface of the tooth is not what you want it to look like, we can make veneers for your teeth which are basically very thin glass porcelain plates that we then bond to the front of the teeth. So with this treatment we’re really able to transform what the entirety of the tooth looks like. We can change the shape, we can change the color, we can even change the positioning to some degree.
It can really, you know, take somebody’s smile and completely change it around to where, you know, they’re going to go from maybe not having that much confidence in being self-conscious to loving what they look like. It’s a hugely transformative treatment we offer our patients. Every case is different, and depending on the positions of the teeth, how invasive this treatment has to be varies.
We always will do a full workup with our patients and tell them exactly what we’re going to have to do to the teeth to get the veneers on, but in general we like to be as conservative as possible. So for example, you can press a veneer to be down to 0.3 of a millimeter thick, which is obviously very, very small, and that, in the best cases, is all we have to remove from the tooth. So it can be, you know, incredibly conservative, and that’s the way that we like to go every time that we can.
