So we have we have great hygienists here. Gum health is important because gums are kind of the foundation of your teeth. You know, in everybody’s mouth you have your teeth, you have your jawbone, and you have your gums that sit over that.
When you have plaque and bacteria built up around your gums and your teeth, the gums get inflamed and that’s why, you know, some people will notice. You brush, when people brush their teeth and they say, oh I bleed every time I brush my teeth, or I bleed every time I floss, and that’s why I don’t do it. Here at the office, when you come in and the hygienist is able to really get in there and clean all that extra plaque off of the teeth, you’ll see that your gums and your bone underneath are going to heal and look and feel a lot better.
That’s super important for your oral health because once you start getting gingivitis and, you know, if it gets worse than that, you get a little bit of that inflammation in the bone as well. You know, the gums and bone can actually start to shrink and when the gums and bones start to shrink, your teeth lose that foundation, so they over time can start to get loose.
